The math is free. It's the easy part.

I didn't read about how college counseling gets done. I sat in it. I went through consulting programs myself, more than one.

The work moves on paper. Spreadsheets. Ten thousand Google Docs, one per student per essay per version, named "Jenny UC PIQ 3 FINAL final v2." A tab structure exactly one person understands, and when that person leaves, the family starts over.

Families pay thousands for this. Not for bad advice. Some of those counselors are genuinely good. They pay thousands for good advice trapped inside a filing system from 1998, and they never get to see inside it.

A counselor can tell you your GPA is a problem. Far fewer can tell you which grade caused it, what a B in Pre-Calculus next semester does to the number, or that the D your daughter got in Chemistry still counts toward her UC GPA but has to be repeated to satisfy A–G. That rule is published. It is public. It is not ambiguous. Most families learn it as seniors, with no term left to fix it.

That is not a failure of effort. It is a failure of tooling.

The correction has been worse. Hand a kid a language model, call it a counselor, submit what comes back. It's clean, grammatical, and average, because average is what the model was built to produce. It was trained on the middle of everything ever written. The same essay will arrive this fall from students who have never met. Yours won't get flagged. It'll get forgotten. That's worse.

So we don't run from technology, and we don't pretend it's a counselor.

Software should do the arithmetic. UC GPA is arithmetic: grades ten and eleven, A–G courses only, one honors point per approved semester, capped at eight. There is no art in it. Every family in California should be able to run it on their own kid without paying anyone.

So we give it away. All of it. Your school's real UC-approved course list, live from UC's database, with the abbreviations that appear on your transcript. Your UC GPA three ways, A–G progress with the D flagged, honors semesters counted against the cap. Your testing. A college list with each school's admission rate and the score ranges the schools that publish them report. All eight UC Personal Insight Questions and all seven Common App prompts, with live word counters, a supplemental workspace for every school you save, and brainstorm scaffolds built from the activities you logged.

No trial, no card, no locked tab, no upgrade screen at the moment it gets useful. The same code our paying families use.

We can do that because the software is the easy part.

The hard part is sitting across from a sixteen year old who has decided she's bad at math, and finding out in the third session that she isn't, she just missed two weeks of Algebra 2 in October. The hard part is telling a senior in November that the essay he loves is the wrong essay. The hard part is saying out loud which campuses a 3.7 with an impacted major should actually be applying to.

None of that is a spreadsheet. None of it is a prompt.

We tutor the courses that set your UC GPA, and we show you exactly what each grade does to your application. Same people, same file, both sides. No black box score. No invented statistics. No outcomes we didn't produce.

Give away the math. Charge for everything else.

That's the whole company.
